These are very rare $1 Nickel Half Rolls. They are stamped Federal Reserve San Francisco. A quick internet search showed this bank dates back from the early 1900's. The San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank opened for business in rented quarters at the rear of the Merchants National Bank on November 16, 1914, in order to make the reserve provisions of the Federal Reserve Act. In 1924, the San Francisco staff moved out of temporary locations and into the Bank's newly built headquarters at 400 Sansome Street, a location that it would occupy for the next 60 years. In 1983, the bank relocated to 101 Market St.

These rolls are light brown in color with some of them being faded from storage. The ends are still tightly sealed. The contents of the rolls we have opened thus far have shown teens, twenties and thirties buffalo nickels. We would not be surprised if Liberty V or Shield Nickels were found in some of the rolls. You will receive 1x roll from the lot shown.
